Content Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Proofreading of application forms, essays and resumes
  • Liaise with applicant stories/experiences and help them translate those into written form through brainstorming sessions
  • Collaborate with application consultants to help applicants conceptualize, structure and produce polished, original essays and statements of purpose
  • Guide students through effective college-specific research to identify relevant resources and offerings for reference in essays
  • Create original content for digital and social media channels on an as-needed basis

  • The ability to work from 10 to 6 Monday to Saturday; Saturdays are generally 2x/month most of the year except from August to January, when weekly Saturday presence may be required.

Associate, MBA

We are seeking MBA Consultants with high energy, a positive attitude and a passion for mentoring young people as they make higher education and career choices. Our MBA Consultants work one-on-one with applicants to develop the most compelling application to global MBA programs.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding an applicant’s background.
  • Conducting online research and suggesting programs/universities relevant to the applicant’s strengths and goals.
  • Creating and maintaining material development timelines.
  • Engaging the applicant in a meaningful and realistic goal development exercise.

  • Reviewing all written application materials, including but not limited to essays, application forms, and resumes to ensure consistency and proof reading to ensure effective presentation.
  • Conducting basic interview preparation.
  • Counseling applicant about career/education goals.
  • Motivating applicants through a demanding, prolonged application process.
  • All relevant and reasonable activity required to assist an applicant as they prepare for the global MBA application process.
  • Communicating continuously with core MBA services team on applicant progress.

Education Consultant, Undergraduate

We are seeking an Undergraduate Education Consultant, with strong writing and communication skills to assist in developing, sharing and measuring results of content UG activities.

Responsibilities
The Undergraduate Education Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end project management and advising undergraduate applicants. TRP will train the Consultant to execute duties listed below according to internal procedures and processes:

  • Understanding an applicant’s background
  • Conducting online research and suggest programs/universities relevant to the applicant’s strengths and goals
  • Creating and maintaining timelines
  • Counseling applicant and parents on college choice, education goals and choice of major
  • Brainstorming topics for essays, interviews and other application components

  • Motivating applicants through a demanding, prolonged application process

Admin Manager

  • Manage two junior office assistants: receptionist/bookkeeper and office boy
  • Coordinate and negotiate with vendors for all resources related to the office (office supplies, stationery, water, office space projects, travel companies, etc.)
  • Coordinate with lawyers and accountants and other service professionals
  • Respond to client inquiries by phone, email or web, and walk-ins
  • Create and maintain business related documents
  • Maintain and record company-wide calendar, meeting schedules, minutes of the meeting, etc.
  • Manage the travel arrangements, itineraries, airline reservations, shuttle services and hotel accommodation
  • Coordinate and manage all TRP events along with the head of BD, duties including but not limited to logistics, presentations and contracting
  • Liaise and work with all the departments in the company to ensure daily workflow of the business
  • Advise and assist the Human Resources team with recruitment activities, including but not limited to employee orientation, documentation and hiring
  • Conducting, recommending and implementing employee retention strategies and training programs

The fundamental role of independent educational consultants is to help students explore college opportunities and find the right place for them to succeed academically and socially. IECs don’t get students admitted—they help students demonstrate why they deserve to be admitted at appropriately chosen schools. They help students find colleges they might not have heard of—often out of their region—and they help students put their best foot forward.

Here are 5 things families should consider when looking to hire an IEC:

  1. Does the IEC belong to a professional association such as IECA with established and rigorous standards for membership?
  2. Do not trust any offers of guaranteed admission to a school or a certain minimum dollar value in scholarships.
  3. Ensure that the IEC adheres to the ethical guidelines for private counseling established by IECA.
  4. Find an IEC that visits college, school, and program campuses and meets with admissions representatives regularly in order to keep up with new trends, academic changes and evolving campus cultures.
  5. Do they attend professional conferences or training workshops on a regular basis to keep up with regional and national trends and changes in the law?
