Job Description:

The Associate – Human Resources will be responsible for supporting the HR function in day-to-day operations, including employee lifecycle management, HR administration, recruitment coordination, and engagement activities. This role is ideal for an HR generalist with 1-2 years of experience looking to grow in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

TRP’s one-on-one consulting, informational programming (virtual and in-person) and thought leadership is designed to transform access to quality education, broaden perspectives and optimize potential across the learning eco-system. Our counselors support applicants as they navigate the complex higher education landscape by advising on admission strategies, application components, and country and college selection.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial HR interviews.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers for interview feedback and offer roll-outs.
  • Manage the onboarding process, ensuring seamless integration for new hires, including documentation, induction, and system access setup.

2. Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Maintain and update HR records, ensuring accurate employee data management.
  • Support in drafting and issuing contracts, agreements, and HR-related letters.
  • Track consultant contracts and ensure timely renewals.

3. HR Operations & Administration

  • Assist in payroll coordination by ensuring proper documentation for attendance, leaves, and consultant invoices.
  • Manage HR platforms, HRIMS updates, and maintain compliance with internal policies.
  • Handle exit formalities, including conducting exit interviews and documentation closure.

4. Employee Engagement & Culture Building

  • Assist in planning and executing employee engagement initiatives, team events, and festive celebrations.
  • Support internal communications related to HR updates and initiatives.

5. Compliance & Policy Adherence

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and processes.
  • Support in implementing new HR policies and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably in a consulting, startup, or fast-paced
    environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in HR tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently.

Neil Maheshwari is CFO & COO of the U.S. News & World Report, L.P. He has overall responsibility for financial strategy, capital allocation, business operations and strategic investments.

He has over 30 years of experience in the media business, especially related to corporate finance, business operations, taxes and digital strategy. He was a key member of the team that led the digital transformation of U.S. News in 2010.

Neil’s career began at the New York Daily News in 1993, following its acquisition by Mort Zuckerman. Over the years his responsibilities have encompassed budgeting, contract negotiations, tax management and IT operations for the New York Daily News, U.S. News & World Report and other media entities under the family’s ownership.

As a member of the executive committee, Neil participates in crucial business-strategy decisions and their implementation. He is also deeply involved in evaluating all potential acquisition and divestiture opportunities for the media companies owned by Mort Zuckerman. His prior experience includes leading the sale of Fast Company to G & J in December 2000, as well as the sales of Atlantic Monthly, Radar magazine, Applied Printing Technologies and, most recently, the New York Daily News to Tribune Publishing in 2017.

Before joining the Daily News and U.S. News, Neil spent over four years with a mid-town CPA firm, specialising in audits and mergers & acquisitions for publishing clients. He also gained experience at the India offices of Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young.
