Job Description:

As The Red Pen continues to grow its services and clients across India and around the world, we seek Sales and Business Development Associate for UGAP team, who will help us expand our clientele and drive our sales thus growing the business within India and internationally. The incumbent will be responsible for setting up multiple channels in sales including online sales, and outbound operations. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about sales, has a strong ability to research and understand potential leads, and is excited by the opportunity to exceed sales targets.

Company Profile:

The Red Pen is an independent education consulting company, helping applicants plan their education at the school, university or postgraduate levels. We also assist high schools to develop a student-focused, scalable university counseling infrastructure.

We currently have approximately 100+ team members, located around the world. Most of our team members have lived, worked and/or studied outside India.

Primary Responsibilities:

Sales Growth & Strategy:

  • Deliver sales growth for the UG Admissions service line as per organizational targets.
  • Lead the sales screening of all inquiries and manage the CRM system to track weekly and monthly reports, including lead flow and conversion rates.
  • Provide insights and feedback to management on market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies, product development, and marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with TRP’s CMO and central marketing team to align strategy, goals, and objectives with the business goals for each financial year.
  • Develop and execute the marketing strategy and plan for the UG Admissions service line.

 

Lead Generation & Management:

  • Research and identify prospective leads in your market/region through market analysis and outreach efforts.
  • Make outbound calls to prospective clients within your region, qualify leads, and build a strong sales pipeline with a focus on quickly closing potential leads.
  • Be the single point of contact (SPOC) for all leads throughout the lead-to-client conversion process, providing expert guidance and answering questions about products, pricing, availability, and credit terms.

 

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:

  • Recommend products or services based on client requirements, preferences, and budget, offering tailored solutions that meet needs and address pain points.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to close sales and secure commitments, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow up with leads, inquiries, and prospects in a timely manner, nurturing relationships, overcoming objections, and persuading prospects to take action.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients, including conducting regular check-ins and addressing any concerns or issues.

 

Sales Pipeline & CRM Management:

  • Manage sales pipelines and activities, tracking leads, opportunities, and sales progress using CRM software or sales tracking tools to prioritize efforts and maximize sales conversion.
  • Ensure that the CRM is accurate, up-to-date, and all activities are logged, maintaining impeccable administrative standards.

 

Team Collaboration & Development:

  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and workshops to enhance sales skills, learn new techniques, and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Create, train, and lead a high-performing sales team to deliver on the organization’s sales targets.
  • Work with the team to develop content for sales and marketing, ensuring alignment with market trends and consumer preferences.

 

Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis:

  • Lead market intelligence efforts to understand TRP’s position in the UG Admissions space and anticipate future needs.
  • Perform market research to understand consumer trends and preferences, identifying potential changes required in communication, outreach modes, and products.
  • Monitor competitor movements in the market, including new launches and marketing activities, to stay ahead of industry trends.

 

Client Engagement & Industry Participation:

  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and sales materials to prospective clients.
  • Participate in client meetings, events, and industry conferences to build relationships and promote TRP’s services.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the education or service industry.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify and understand potential leads.
  • Ability to work towards and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong customer engagement and rapport-building skills.
  • Team player with good time management skills, committed, flexible, and eager to learn.
  • Experience using CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Enthusiasm for team success and a positive approach to challenges.
